Storm-downed branches being cleared from a Louisville, KY yard by Peek Lawn Care
Louisville gets its share of severe weather — thunderstorms, straight-line winds, ice storms, and the occasional tornado warning. When one of those blows through, the phone starts ringing. Peek Lawn Care runs storm and yard debris cleanup across the Louisville East End year-round. We're insured, we've been doing this for over ten years, and we do the work adjusters and neighbors both expect to see. ## What we clean up - **Downed branches and limbs** — anywhere from a single limb across a driveway to a whole tree section down in the yard. - **Post-storm yard debris** — leaves, twigs, and small branches scattered by wind and rain. - **Ice-storm damage** — the branches that snap under weight during Louisville's winter ice events. - **Property-wide cleanup** after tornado-adjacent storms, straight-line wind events, or extended power outages. - **General yard debris hauling** — piles of brush that have accumulated from other work or your own trimming. For anything structural — limbs on the roof, limbs against gutters, limbs on a vehicle, or anything near power lines — the sequence is: your insurance company first, then us for the ground-level cleanup. We don't do rooftop removals or anything involving live electrical. ## How response time actually works For regular clients (mowing, landscaping, seasonal cleanup), we prioritize storm response — usually same-day or next-day depending on the storm's timing. For new clients, we triage: 1. **Anything blocking a driveway or entry.** Same day if physically possible. 2. **Anything on a structure or vehicle.** Insurance call first, then us within 48 hours. 3. **Yard debris, no immediate risk.** Within 2–5 days depending on how many properties are affected. Louisville storms tend to affect whole neighborhoods at once, so we may be routing through six or eight properties in the same block. Priority always goes to safety issues first. ## Insurance-claim work We do a lot of insurance-adjuster work — providing itemized quotes, photos before and after, and paperwork the adjuster needs to close the claim. If insurance is involved, tell us up front. We'll document accordingly, provide the invoicing your adjuster asks for, and keep the paperwork clean so nothing holds up your reimbursement. ## What separates us on storm work - **Actually insured.** Kentucky LLC, full business insurance, BBB A+, USDOT #3256082. Storm cleanup is one of the highest-risk services out there — insured contractors matter here more than anywhere else. - **Local.** We're based on Kaelin Drive in the East End. When storms hit St. Matthews or Windy Hills, we're already in the neighborhood. - **Not the "chase-the-storm" guys.** After every major storm event, out-of-state trucks show up in Louisville looking for cash-in-hand cleanup work. We're a real registered local business — we're here in April and we'll be here in October. - **Related to tree work.** If cleanup reveals a damaged tree that needs to come down, or a hanging limb that's about to fall, we can handle that too — see [tree service](/services/tree-service/). ## Get help now For active storm response, call [(502) 762-8817](tel:+15027628817) — we'll triage and get you on the schedule. Frequently asked questions

How fast can you come out after a storm?
For clients in our regular service area, usually the next business day — often the same day if the storm hits in the morning. For new clients, we prioritize by property risk (anything blocking a driveway, on a roof, or over power lines) and try to be there within 48 hours.
Do you work with insurance claims?
Yes. We do storm-damage cleanup as part of insurance-claim work — providing itemized quotes, photos before and after, and paperwork the adjuster needs. If a claim is involved, tell us up front so we can document accordingly.
What if a limb hit my house or a car?
For anything structural (limb on the roof, limb on a vehicle, limb near power lines), call your insurance company first, then call us. We handle the removal side — carefully, and we don't make anything worse. Power-line contact is a separate call to LG&E first.
What about my neighbor's tree that fell into my yard?
Fallen debris on your property is your problem to clean up in most cases, regardless of whose tree it came from. We can handle the cleanup on your side of the property line. If there's a dispute or an insurance issue between you and the neighbor, that's separate from the physical cleanup.
